I just returned from a book tour in Nebraska! Just like me to do this in January….It was 20 degrees and colder, I was freezing, everyone was laughing at the Hawaiian girl in a borrowed winter coat…
Thanks. But, I did have the opportunity to speak with many different groups about my books, and especially about Identity Theft.
It was kind of sad, listening to the many stories about people who were, or knew , victims of ID Theft…
But people also felt gratified to know they weren’t alone.
I asked the Mayors Council to speak with police, and to let them know that the disabled aren’t always giving money away because they can’t handle finances…that’s what police said to me, when the thief told police that I was mentally incapable of handling money because I was losing my sight.
Apparently, I am one of many in that same situation. People take advantage all the time. Opportunistic thievery, due to a broken system…
Let me know if you are facing something similar. Lets support each other to enlighten law enforcement, and legislators. And empower each other.
Until next time. Stay safe!
