travels in Omaha

Well, I made it after 14 hours travel, end to end, and I didn’t even lose luggage! My friend was worried that, with only 1.5 hours between flights, I wouldn’t make it, but here I am.

The only glitch was the loss of an ankle boot heel the next day, but the glue arrived, and we’ll play cobbler and fix it!

I was supposed to fly in on Wednesday, and speak on Thursday at 11am, with only 6 hours sleep (after 21 hours travel) but, I am wimp and declined. I stuck to original plans, getting 8 hours sleep, and enough prep to be coherent!

Any of you out there with this experience? Let me know how you deal with your boss!!!

First presentation was with the Mayors Commission on Disabilities, and it went well. Except someone forgot to take pics…oh, well…I felt sad upon hearing about an identity theft victims’ story.

Sometimes, people need to know they aren’t alone. And I was able to ask the Commission speak with police, about the victims’ side of the event…

That evening, I spoke at a unique venue, The Reading Room on Farnam St.

It’s a nice atmosphere, with comfy seating for all. Coffee, tea, snacks provided.

I enjoyed giving my presentation of a victim being hauled off to jail, after a routine traffic stop… watch the tape on the mayor’s website…

Friday saw me at Radio Talking Books with Stephanie.

We had a great interview, tape on their website. One staff member received a Pink Cat Hat, courtesy of Joella from Hawai’i!

Ski For Light, and Bus Across Nebraska next week, also Outlook Express at the end of the month.

Stay tuned, I hope to keep my heels intact.

Frozen toes are another matter…
